When cyber criminals encrypt all your corporate data, disable your business IT systems and demand a ransom, should you pay up? Ransomware is extortion re-invented. Business victims of these types of attacks are faced with two choices: lose access to years of data along with millions of pounds in business interruption or pay the ransom to get the data back.

Ransomware attacks are top on the list of corporate risks. The massification of remote-working and home working – as a result of the pandemic – has significantly increased the number and variety of businesses being targeted by online extortion. Cyber criminals are becoming more sophisticated than ever, using technology as well as social engineering tactics to infect corporate systems.
